Fine white or off-white powder used in the plastics industry to make polyesters with glycols forming plastic sheets and films and for making white smoke pyrotechnics. Also used to make terephthalate chemicals for use as fuel agents in making pyrotechnic color flame compositions and whistles. Sublimes @ 402°. Soluble in hot alcohol solutions, pratically insoluble in water.
