Machined from aluminum tool stock, this three piece set produces a rocket motor with a core and nozzle and a tangenital side vent for ignition. No airframe or fins needed! Upon ignition, the motor starts spinning much like a buzz bomb, then the core ignites sending it rapidly into the air up to 1000 ft with a loud thrumming sound. Uses our 3/4" ID X 24" long tubes (stock # GTP34/24) cut into 3 1/2" lengths, nozzle clay and either whistle mix or "black powder" type rocket propellant. Can be loaded with star mix or flash for nighttime effects. Launched from an upright nail in wood base. NEVER POUND WHISTLE MIX TO COMPRESS! IT IS WAY TOO SENSITIVE! ALWAYS USE A HYDRAULIC PRESS FOR CONSTANT PRESSURE WITHOUT THE 'SHOCK' OF HAMMERING!
Precision machined from durable 6061 aluminum for strength and years of use, these three piece sets consist of a base with radius nozzle forming spindle (for perfect, smooth nozzles every time), a drilled nozzle forming ram and a solid ram to pack the fountain mix in place. The tube is placed on the base, a scoop of clay is pressed in place followed by the fountain mix and a final scoop of clay to close. It is then removed from the base, primed and fused for use - simple! Comes with instructions and formulas for various fountain mixtures, color flames and other effects. Want great fountains and gerbs? You need to start with proper tooling made by someone who has been there!

Military surplus paste mixture of silicone, waxes and mineral oil that acts as a moistureproof water barrier when applied to substrates such as leather, vinyl, boots, tents, saddles, gun scabbards, wood, cloth, etc.. We sell it also as an effective mold release when applied to rocket motor tooling (spindle and rams) or mold surfaces to prevent propellants and other castables from sticking for easy removal.
Each set is precision machined from high tensile strength 6061 aircraft aluminum for strength and long life. Sets feature base with coring spindle, convergence cone forming nozzle ram, propellant ram(s) and bulkhead top (flashhole) forming ram. The nozzle ram forms the correct (convergence) angle to dispense pressure and each ram is drilled smaller than the previous to properly accept the spindle tapers. Knurled ends for removal. Each set includes complete instructions with "black powder" type fuel formulas. Case reinforcing sleeve not included. Stock #TSWROC is a whistle rocket tool set that uses whistle mix (potassium perchlorate, sodium salicylate or sodium/potassium benzoates) intimately wet mixed together. The set features multiple stage effects. Includes diagramed instruction booklet.
NEVER POUND WHISTLE MIX TO COMPRESS! ALWAYS USE A HYDRAULIC PRESS FOR CONSTANT PRESSURE WITHOUT THE 'SHOCK' OF HAMMERING!As with the smaller version hobby store motors, these tool sets produce rocket motors that have longer burn durations than the core burning types. Each set is precision machined from carbon steel and 6061 aluminum stocks for long tool life. The higher density propellant grain (mandatory for proper chamber pressures during combustion) is formed by using a hydraulic press for adequate pressures. The base and spindle are machined from steel to withstand the high pressures exerted on them during the pressing operation.
Machined from solid 6061 tool stock aluminum for long life and designed for use with our phenolic motor casings listed above. Each set contains base, four propellant coring spindles (two each of two diameters), pulling handle, centering rings, 10 delay element liners and compression ram and complete instructions (propellant formulae not included). You can machineyour own nozzles out of graphite, phenolic, fiberglass or they can be made with our nozzle forming tool sets listed below.

Used as a mold release agent for casting proprllants, it is first applied to the coring spindle, casting mold, etc.. For stick free removal of cast propellants, plastics, epoxies, etc.. Also effectively eliminates foaming when added to composite propellants. Two drops per 5 lb batch is all that is required. Large 2 oz bottle goes a long way, enough for hundreds of applications.
Machined from high carbon steel and aluminum, these tool sets offer the hobbyist a means to make high heat & erosion resistant graphite composite nozzles for use in higher combustion temp composite rocket motors and others. The sets consist of a heavy wall carbon steel mold sleeve, base with divergence forming cone and a ram which is completely adjustable according to the degree of erosion and heat/gas resistance required. You can design and produce nozzles to burn out slightly for core burning geometries or those that have little or no erosive loss to retain full pressure during combustion for bates grain and moon burning geometries, etc. Make 25 to 50 nozzles per hour for as little as $0.15 each! Using a mixture of powdered graphite and other materials, you simply add a measured amount of mix to the mold sleeve, compress to a mark on the ram and eject. The more pressure used, the higher the density and the more erosion resistant they are. Once you have several, they are cure baked in an oven and drilled any diameter you need for the proper exhaust vent - fully adjustable for pressure release! The sets produce nozzle pellets the diameters listed which are shrink controlled by the oven heat. They are designed to fit the casings listed for each but can be made to fit casings of similar size as well.
High carbon steel alloy punch for cutting round discs to plug tubes, separate charges, use in die sets to make paper plugs or for punching perfectly round holes in material(s). May be used on paper, cardboard, cork, soft plastics, etc. Sharpen with chain saw files.
Note: The 1" and above are all manufactured in the US and, as such, are more expensive.
Set consists of mold sleeve and ram. Simply spread moist mix in shallow pan, compress and eject with ram. Pump more than one at a time by placing paper discs between them when cutting the composition in the pan. Make comets and exploding stars by purchasing bases that fit the pumps as listed. Note: Actual diameters of pumped pellets are slightly smaller than diameters listed to allow sufficient clearance for use in roman candles, fountains, aerial flare devies or other tubes with ID's the same as those listed for the pellet pumps. Instructions and star formulae included.
The above pump also makes stars used in our 4 oz (RE4) engine case for rocket & buzz bomb aerials

These fit the pumps as listed above. The base forms a hollow core in each star. When dry, the cavity is filled 60% with flash powder and sealed with star mix or prime comp (exploding stars) or with a composition emitting showers of sparks as it combusts for comets. Instructions and star formulae included.
Now you can make your own ignition materials, Imitation ThermaliteTM, cord stars and strobes, sparklers and color light sticks, quickmatch, blackmatch, thermic fuse and color / spark inserts for fountains, salutes, aerial shells and mines. Using Gary Purrington’s “Pull-Coating” method and this simple inexpensive stand, you can make 300 to 400 feet per hour ready for use in just a couple of hours instead of days and the finished cord is fully weather resistant! 100 grams of composition makes approx 140 ft of 3/32” or 60 ft of 5/32”. That’s just 2-3 cents per foot! Comes with metal stand that is “C” clamped (clamp not included) to the workbench that supports various size plastic bottles with sizing tip caps (2oz, 4oz and 8oz included), a bottle mount and a detailed instruction booklet with formulations for 8 binder solutions, two formulations for Imitation Thermalite (slow & medium), blackmatch and quickmatch. The booklet explains how to make Pull-Coated match using spools of 100% mercerized cotton crochet string (#10, #20, #30) available at Wall-Mart and other sewing & crochet stock suppliers. Two to four strings are drawn through the bottle containing the slurry and through a sizing tip to final size the match. It is then hung to dry and cut into the appropriate lengths for use. Make 300 to 400 feet of coated “cord” (match) per hour in diameters ranging from 1/16” to 3/8”. Make continuous lengths of match by supporting it on a wire frame. Want to make other devices using color flame and spark formulations? Order “Making Imitation Thermalite Ignitercord And More” stock # TRMATCH (see literature section for more details). Use our formulations or yours! Extra bottles, sizing tips and bottle mounts available below. This stand saves you the price of it the first time you use it!
