BUY TEREPHTHALIC ACID, THERMITE, THIOUREA, TITANIUM & TRIACETIN

Please note that there are price breaks per pound, the more that you get. Unless otherwise specified, the prices are, from left to right, the 1lb, 5lb, 10lb and 20 lb prices. See the Shipping Rates for more info. All the chemicals listed on this page (in blue) require a DOT-E-8249  Exemption box (see shipping rates for details)

The last thing listed behind the stock number is the hazardous class, if any, of the item. The Shipping class Legend follows. If any of these are listed after a chemical, that chemical is hazardous, but some of them may be shipped as a limited quantity with no hazmat. Those that can are as listed below in the color coding.

DW=Dangerous When Wet; SC=Spontaneously Combustible;
OX=Oxidizer; FS=Flammable Solid; FL=Flammable Liquid; PM=Poisonous Material;
CM=Corrosive Material; AG=Aerosol Gas; ORM=ORM-D (cannot be shipped with other hazmat items, but is not hazardous itself)

For our safety as well as yours, we ship everything according to regulations. The DOT has no sense of humor!

Note: For instructions on using the shopping cart, click here.

Color Coding:
Green - means that particular item is not considered hazardous. However, items that are listed as ORM-D CANNOT be shipped to other countries (no international shipping). E-mail us if you have a question on a partcular item. ORM-D's are not considered hazardous by ground service.
Orange - means the item is normally hazardous, but we can ship it without a hazmat fee (in 1LB quanities, up to 10LBs, at 1LB price)
Red - means that the item must be shipped hazardously, regardless of qty ordered.
Blue - require a DOT-E-8249 Exemption box and hazardous fees.

<==============================>
If you are placing an order with us online, you must be on file with us, regardless of what your first order is. This means that we have to have a signed in ink order form and a copy of your driver's license on file. If you do not have these things on file with us, it will just delay your order. You only have to do it once and then you can order whenever you would like. Go to our order form page to print out the order form there. Then you can use that to fill out and send in.

TEREPHTHALIC ACID, fine crystalline powder,  [C8H6O4]   (P-Benzenedicarboxylic acid), Stock #C196TA

Fine white or off-white powder used in the plastics industry to make polyesters with glycols forming plastic sheets and films and for making white smoke pyrotechnics. Also used to make terephthalate chemicals for use as fuel agents in making pyrotechnic color flame compositions and whistles. Sublimes @ 402°. Soluble in hot alcohol solutions, pratically insoluble in water.   Not yet in stock - CALL

THERMITE COMPOSITION - INDUSTRIAL

High quality industrial thermic composition specially blended for industrial applicatioins to cut thick, heavy metals. It too produces molten slag alloys (in larger volume) and extreme heat in excess of 4500º F to weld metals together or cut through it like a cutting torch. The military uses thermite to destroy equipment, documents and other incendiary uses as well as remote welding. Normally difficult to ignite, it can be easily ignited using thermic prime composition, thermic igniters or a small amount of potassium perchlorate and/or magnesium powder. Easily cuts through 1/4" steel in seconds - heavier metals slightly longer depending on thickness. Virtually dozens of uses for camping and survival in any weather or climate. Comes with instructions.   Non-Hazmat Shipping By US Mail - No ATFE required to order.

TITANIUM THERMITE COMPOSITION - WELDING ALLOY - [Al/Ti/Cr/V/Fe3O4/SiO2] - Stock # SECTHERM/Ti

High quality industrial thermic composition specially blended for industrial and emergency welding applicatioins and/or cutting thick, heavy metals. Infused with titanium, the molten alloy is stronger than Fe/Al or other metal/metal oxide thermites. It too produces molten slag alloys (in larger volume) and extreme heat in excess of 4500º F to weld metals together or cut through it like a cutting torch. Titanium thermite is the better choice for emergency welding operations. Normally difficult to ignite, it can be easily ignited using thermic prime composition, thermic igniters or a small amount of potassium perchlorate/50-100 mesh magnesium/ and/Titanium thermite, 20/20/60 by weight. Easily cuts through 1/4" steel in seconds - heavier metals slightly longer depending on thickness. Virtually dozens of uses for camping and survival in any weather or climate. Comes with instructions.   Non-Hazmat Shipping By US Mail - No ATFE required to order.

THIOUREA, fine technical crystalline powder, thiocarbamide, isothiourea, thiocarbonic acid diamide, sulourea, [SC(NH2)2] Stock #C196THIO

Chemically similar to urea except that the oxygen atom is replaced by a sulfur atom, but the properties of the two differ significantly. Because thiourea has the sulfur atom, studies have cited its lower friction sensitivity (over elemental sulfur) when used as a fuel in pyrotechnic compounds with oxidizers, including chlorates. However, this trait can be viewed as an asset or a liability depending on its application. Some of the functional traits it lends to pyrotechnic formulations include catalytically sensitizing mixtures to increase the combustion rate, lower the ignition point (usually significantly), increase energy, shock and impact sensitivity (brisance) in explosives, fuel sensitizer in pyrotechnic CS, fungicide, pesticide and smoke formulations, and as a flame retardand in resins and smoke formulations. Its use in combination with less sensitive oxidizers as a substitute for more expensive, more sensitive oxidizers (such as chlorates) is entirely feasable and should be explored by the pyrotechnic chemist. In addition, it is also used as a vulcanization accelerator, the main ingredient in silver cleaners (Tarn-X), as an ingredient in solder/tinning fluxes, and for making electroless tin, copper and lead alloy plating solutions.    Don't miss out on this one!       Now In Stock!

Titanium Alloy, Fine Swarf, approx 285µ, 50-60 mesh [Ti/Al/Cr/V/] Stock # C196TIS - FS

This is a hardened alloy of Titanium, Aluminum, Cromium and Vanadium manufactured by Timet. Same excellent white hot branching sparks as the more expensive milled flake or the insanely expensive sponge. Works well in salutes, fountains, gerbs, comets, whistles, rocket propellants, etc.. In addition, because of the particle shape of this fine swarf, it burns with a distinctive crackle and it can be easily ball milled to a finer mesh size. That is usually not possible with the thicker hammer milled product. In a microscope, you can see that this swarf is fine machine produced curls. It is this shape that provides the distinctive burn crackle and allows it to be broken into finer particles for a variety of mesh sizes. This is excellent material for pyrotechnics. Shipped with a fine water soluble oil coating that can easily be removed by adding some water and dish detergent and shaking for a minute, drain, rinse and spread out to dry. Full drums are done the same way by rolling on the ground, drain and rinse. Simple! Can be shipped by mail without hazmat fees. No restrictions and No ATFE required to purchase any quantity.
