Delay compositions are designed to combust slowly yet generate enough heat to initiate a particular reaction within a controlled time span. Typical usage includes delay in rocket motors between propellant burn out and manipulation of the recovery system, in tactical smoke and percussion grenades between fuse ignition and combustion of the smoke or propellant charge, various firework applications and virtually dozens of special effects and theatrical uses. Our delay composition is designed to combust with smoke at an approximate rate of .65 millimeters per second with the addition of 25% (by weight) of Potassium Nitrate (not supplied). Faster combustion rates possible by increasing the oxidizer accordingly (2.20 mm/sec @ 50% ox). Easy to use! Simply mix with Potassium Nitrate, moisten with adhesive solution and press into place.
