Purrington ProtoLabs / Firefox Enterprises LLC is the Original Inventor and Manufacturer of a chimney fire suppressant previously being sold by Meeco Manufacturing Inc and has marketed our product under the name of FireEx™. Firefox no longer supplies product to Meeco because of their attempts to copy our formulation, unique delivery, and function that are all protected under Trade Secret Laws and others.

Chimfire Defense™ has an unlimited shelf life; takes less than two minutes to extinguish the fire; It can be used with the very first fire of the season to coat the chimney to reflect/reduce the buildup of creosote. Chimfire Defense™ extinguishes the fire and crystallizes the creosote allowing it to rise out of the chimney with the thick smoke and non-combustable gasses being generated, and crystallizes any remaining creosote so it can be easily removed. Chimfire Defense™ is not a flare that requires dangerous pre-ignition before use. It contains no volatile mixtures. Instead, the entire packet is simply placed on the hot coals, the stove or fireplace doors are closed and in less that two minutes the fire is out. The flare types being offered online as chimney fire extinguishers do not provide any of the above listed prevention, cleaning and protection properties that Chimfire Defense™ does!!
