This specially developed, low density carbon powder was ordered by NASA for the (now cancelled) New Advanced Space Shuttle Project. The material cost the government well over $125.00 per pound and was never used. We have all 80 drums @50 lbs net each. Although the manufacturer could give us no information on it's application, they did tell us the material is pure carbon, low density (.198 g/cc), light weight, conductive powder of 99.7 wt % passing 50 mesh and 22.7 wt % passing 325 mesh. Capable of withstanding temperatures well in excess of 4000?F and very lightweight, it should make excellent nozzles to increase heat resistance and reduce both weight and abrasive wear on spindle. It may also be used as a mold release agent (dry lubricant) in that it is "slick" like it's older brother Graphite - yet lighter in weight. Also great for use in conductive bridge-wireless electric igniters!! Can be milled to reduce particle size if needed. Full 50 lb drums can be shipped by UPS.
